Lately I'm having all sorts of problems with my wheels, namely:

- The other day I drove too fast over a metal plate in the road (didn't see it coming up) in a construction area. I remember thinking "oh man, I hope my car is OK" and forgot all about it.
- The following day my driver's side rear tire started leaking air. Refilled and it leaks down to ~12 lbs. after sitting for a day.
- The day after that I was driving home and my passenger's side rear tire blew out with a loud "pop". It didn't completely separate from the rim but looks like a new tire before it's mounted and filled.

I was able to limp to a parking lot and throw on my spare contour rim + tire.

Any idea what the heck is going on? Did I damage the tires? Bend my rims? Nothing visible as far as I can see is wrong with either.

:help

Take it to a tire shop?

Don't mean to be rude

LOL, it's OK... I'm just bummed that my car seems to be falling apart lately...

I'm just concerned a tire shop will just patch the tire or throw new ones on when the rims may be out of round, etc.

any normal shop would balance the wheels, and if they cant be balanced they tell you

Not really. 2 of my wheels were bent badly and 3 different shops never mentioned it. Probably scared I'd blame it on them.

This is what I'm worried about. I don't want to spend $300 in new rear tires only to have them go flat/blow out again due to a bent rim. I've been looking into a few local wheel shops lately and thinking of new rims with lighter weight and wider than OEM. Plus my DS-IIs weren't powder-coated when I had them painted and the paint is starting to chip off everywhere.

Doublespokes? Or the wheels in your sig?

Just become butt buddies with the tire guy and you'll be fine.

Hah, I guess I haven't updated my sig in awhile. Here's the DS-IIs after they were painted:

you can balance a badly bent wheel.

op, prob a bent wheels. the bend is prob on the inside beam. pull the wheel off, inspect the tire, spray the bead of the wheel to check for leaks.

Wheels look good. I recommend putting extra cash into maintenance WAY before wheels. They're just too expensive and should be left for last. (You should be able to fetch about 400 for your DS2s if you decide not to keep them
