Hey guys i ve been driving an e39 540i 6 speed with mods for 2 years and just bought a stock low millage 99 e36 m3 first mod that im doing is 14lbs chromoly ltw flywheels with stage 2 clutch, i chose stage 2 cause i ve been thinking about getting vf stage 1 when they have a xmas sale or so... but im wondering Can i get aroung 240whp just with cams, software and exhaust with around 2k budget ?and would you recommend stromung or rogue exhaust ? thank you for your help i start loving this toy more and more:)

I just installed an f1 stage 2 clutch with a 14 lbs flywheel. I really like it. I decided to go stage 2 simply because I wanted better than stock performance and a sprung hub on the clutch disc to help keep the clutch rattle to a minimum. And let me tell you, I only have 150 miles on it, but I have ZERO clutch rattle.

The only cam upgrades that I know of for an M3 are shrick or sunbelt cams which are both well over $1000 new and an an exhaust isn't going to give you any noticeable gains, its mainly a sound mod for these cars.

I have seen some of our vendors sell Schrick cams in the upper 9's so you can check and see when they do that again. TMS software, larger injectors will sure help to push it closer to the 240 RWHP.
I agree that the exhaust isn't going to help much.
Best gain is to add the OBDI intake manifold but you have a lot of compromises if you do that. If you can live with it you should make 240...

thank you guys for your opinions, i dont really want an obd1 manifold ive got 80k on my car and i would do it maybe after 150k too young for that:)) if i can get 40whp with 2k i would go for it if not ill save up for vf stage 1 i guess i dont wanna waste my time and money for lil gains. And Blueberry i bought the same exact setup with redline mixture left the car in the shop and they ll put it in first thing tomorrow morning and very excited about it but do you have any last minute recommendations like sprung hub direction, lubrication, balancing, fluid??? i paid only like 460shipped and ll see the results tomorrow im just afraid if the mechanic makes any mistakes while putting it in :SSSS coming from europe and driving a us spec e36 m3 is annoying me alot but hopefully with some mods ill make it alive it seems like SC is a must
