i bought my M3 about a month ago from an older man who didn't really seem to be an enthusiest. it was all stock, and he said he always drove it slow. I later learned that the car had been in germany before i bought it. you can see on the car where the german plates had been, and i also found Euro coins under the seat. Today i learned that my car has the parking light delete like they euro cars. i know its probably not euro because it has US headlights and US gauges, but it was pretty intersting. Also, i had it dyno'ed bone stock and it put down 224hp/217tq. Those are pretty good numbers for stock. The car is a 95 with 70k in mint condition. Anyone wanna explain this for me......??

take a pic of the engine bay...that will tell you if you have a euro motor.....
but then...he could have been in the army...and purchased the car over there...then had it shipped back. but then..customs will have their hands on it...and throw all these smog crap on them.

Or the last 7 digits of the VIN.
It's most likely a US model. 224/217 is very strong, but I don't think they're Euro S50B30 numbers.

The last 7 of the VIN is the quickest way to tell. It won't give awany any secrets on your car, so don't worry. The ETK will tell us what year, month, model, and some optional equipment instantly.

He may have done European delivery. Basically, he gets to drive over on the continent before it gets put on the ship to the states. It's still the US Spec car with all the US emissions and lights on it.

What does your engine bay look closer to, www.suneal.net/us_spec.jpg or www.suneal.net/eu_spec.jpg?

I'm guessing it's not based on your dyno #'s. A euro 3.0L puts down around 250rwhp on a dynojet...bone stock. I don't know what machine you dyno'd your car on, though. If it was a Mustang dyno, the #s would be lower than 250rwhp.
Let's make it as easy as we can for you...
Here's a pic of the my euro S50 B30 3.0L engine. Does it look like this?
...or like this? (US-spec S50 B30 3.0L)
