View Full Version : So...which watch do YOU have to go with your E24?

I recently came across a poll being taken on another BMW forum (NOT on bimmerforums, thank goodness), asking people which brand of watch they wear when driving their (E89) Z4s.

Choices, among others, were: Rolex, Breitling, Omega, Tag Heuer, etc. including some I've never heard of.

Several posters own many high-end watches, and rotate them daily like some women rotate a closet-full of shoes.

One guy (in Hollywood) bragged the collective value of the watches he owns is enough to buy a house with, and that two of them alone are enough to buy a new Z4.

Um...are you guys into wearing expensive watches when you take out your 6ers? Is there something I'm missing? Just curious. :devillook

Welp, E24s are some of the classiest coupes for miles for the money you can get them for right now. So if you need to drive one to a wedding, dressing sharp doesn't look out-of-place.

With that said, I have one watch I wear occasionally, fits in with the 6er nicely I think. Solid shape, with a bit of glitz to go with my chrome/anodized aluminum. I'm by no means a watch snob/connoisseur though.

I gotta wear it on my right hand 'cause I'm weird and left-handed :P

I hate to admit it, but YES I do have watches and a few pairs of cheap "no name" sunglasses that go with each of my 6ers.

I always say, its all about how you look :suave anyway :D

Haha. All my watches are from Amazon. Low-end Invicta and Fossil watches selected to compliment my rides :pimpflash I know, I'm silly. I definitely couldn't re-sale them to replace anything. Well maybe a nice set of CK underwear would be a good trade  (got to have those).

Anyway, I hope I'm not the only dufus here that accessorizes my left wrist on the drivers bolster?!?

I'm one that matches my wine/drink selection with my food. Can you guess my pairings?

I have a pocket watch that I always wear, just a simple silver no-nonsense deal that was given to me by my fiancee.

I wore a tag heuer carrera until recently. I sold it anticipating a grand carrera as an upgrade but that never materialized and I spent the money:rolleyes:D

I think allot of guys that are into cars are into watches. Both are engineering art forms.

I have thee watches. The one I wear most of the time is an Omega Seamaster. For an elegant night out or if I'm feeling technical I wear my treasure, a 1967 Omega Speedmaster. (Gemini and Apollo fan)

The last one I wear is a German watch called a Junkers. A sentimental choice I bought in Germany with my wife and was the first new mechanical watch I ever bought. It's a remake of a Pilots watch they made.

My daughter pointed out that I have a watch for under water, one for flying and one for space.

No quartz or digital watches for me.

I am a total geek so I wear a Casio calculator watch. Guess its period correct as well. Also compliments the tattoo on my right wrist.
Also have a Citizen EcoDrive that I no longer really wear. Too heavy compared to the Casio.

I had a Gucci G all silver watch that my wife had given to me that I lost in LAX airport after going through security. It went well with my silver six!
I now have a simple Fossil watch for everyday use.
Freshbread, that is a beautiful watch! And Happy Birthday!!

I've owned all kinds of watches over the years, this is what I'm wearing now, 40th b-day/engagement gift from my fiancée. She woke me up with this on my birthday at the resort we went to in Playa Del Carmen, pretty amazing souvenir of the trip.

I don't wear watches. Primarily, because I am at work 50 or so hours a week, and part of my job is sanding and buffing freshly applied paint to BMW's. Not to mention I find them uncomfortable.

However, I must have my (knockoff) Tortoise Ray-Ban Wayfarers when driving. (My aunt's dog doesn't mind them, either).

Own a couple of Tag Heuers, with the black face Link chronograph being my favorite. Tag Heuer watches compliment BMWs perfectly!

You guys got some great tastes in watches. Very nice (and expensive). Obviously it reflects in your tastes in cars.

I wear a 1969 Bulova Accutron original, spaceview. It is operated by an internal constant tuning fork which runs the watch, with a small battery. It was my Grandpa's. His son gave it to me after my grandfather died this last April.

I am a watch guy myself. I don't really collect great timepieces but I love my sport watches.

I had in my collection:

Rolex Submariner P-Series circa 2000....last year that they had the lug holes so changing straps was easy. Sold it.

Rolex Two Tone GMT Master circa 1988 on jubilee bracelet. Still have the watch and it was a gift from my father.

Omega Seamaster is my current daily watch. Model 2254...the watch is discontinued it's sort of appreciating. I can sell it and get most of my money back.

I'm a bit of a watch nut myself. But I don't own anything too fancy. I used to have a cheap pocket watch with a skeleton dial but it broke.

I wear this old gem when i'm taking the shark out for a run.

As you can see, it's quite used.

Nothing special. Got a couple old Seiko's that hardly ever get worn. Been wearing the same dead reliable Swiss Army piece for over 20 years. Case was black, now a worn gray with a black face. Just never really got into watchs & the Swiss just keeps ticking away.

How about another important question? What camera's are you guys using - all your picture look amazingly clear!

I cant afford one (yet) but Big Big fan of Breitling!

I personally own several but particularly fond of my vintage Gold wind Lucerin (LP), Vintage Omega 18k gold and my usual daily worn - army swiss SE yellow face navitimer. Pix to follow :redspot

I wear to work an 80th anniversary, LE, Stowa Flieger Durowe 7420. It is number 36 out of 100.

I made an effort to go with the German theme.

They are very good watches. Very clean. I believe it's a homage piece to old military or aviator watches.

Very clean matte dial with larger numerals.
