Hi guys,

2007 Cooper ,
Chilli Red , Black roof
Black Lounge leather seats kit
rest is stock.

Does anyone knows any method or equipment to protect your leather seats and interior from pesky cats and nieces? (i have a few dangerous ones :rolleyes).

Also , recently during a short trip , I could smell a faint smoke smell (like burning rubber) , 20-30 mins after that , I started losing power gradually and RPM wasnt registering at all. managed to make it back home and I havent experienced any problems since then , Is it something serious ?

would be nice of someone to clear up my issue :help

'S'-model, or base Cooper?

Using a quality leather conditioner and wiping down the interior often with a lint-free cloth is really the way to go.
You don't need the greasy 'dress-up' chemicals to protect the materials.

Could you explain yourself more?
Was there any warning lights / check engine light (CEL) on the instrument cluster?
If a manual transmission, did you see RPMs climb while the car failed to accelerate?
Check for any parts rubbing / making contact in the engine bay or underneath the vehicle?

Sounds like something electrical in the dash fried it's self. Better see if the dealership can pull any codes.
