A little more details. Do you have dual batteries? When you say will not turn on - no power at all? Or just won't crank over or fire up? Did you tighten the terminals on properly? And not hand tighten...

Also, do a voltage test at the battery and let us know what it's at.

I once had a 750 that would eat it's way through batteries till I fixed the alternator and got new batteries installed.

It's a 95, only has one battery 10-98 and up have dual setup (E-Cat system)
Put the old tail lights back and try again, did you knock the big 40amp fuse in the right rear just behind the tail light?

is it possible that i triggered the immobilizer? if so how then can i fix this. i just recently bought the car, private owner, and no owners manual. i feel lost as i have never had issues like this before. the terminal is tight(ratcheted). i saw fuses near the battery but not near the tail light and not 40 either. i will look again for the 40amp. please let me know if it looks different as some fuses are different sizes and it would save time knowing what to look for. thanks!

Get the manual from E38.org
If it cranks it's not the immobilizer

the key cylinder is locked so i cant turn anything on let alone try to turn it over.:(
woohoo!!! fixed the backup lights... turns out that the lights i ordered online said they were LED with bulbs included. they only had the blinker bulbs! lol so i took the old bulbs, put them in, and viola, backup lights! so now my issue is that the dash still says "check brake lights" even though all lights now work. so guys, any advice???:help
