Tore down my 740 due to timing chain guides coming apart, noticed some sludge from prev owner, have cam lub rods soaking, wondering if i should replace or clean, cams look ok, Also the vanos passenge side on intake cam the plate with the three pins facing forward in it rotates freely and the drivers side is very difficult to rotate:help. Which one is correct. Blew some compressed air in the front of the difficult one and oil came out the back between plate and head just north of the cam??? Normal?

I have the front of the engine apart for chain guides and noticed; The right side intake cam has a plate w/ three pins facing forward and rotates with ease, the driver side intake cam has the same plate but rotates w/ much effort. The motor has some sludge from a previous owner, i tried blowing some compressed air around the front perimeter but oil came out the back of the sprocket area just north of the cam??? what side is moving normally:help:help:help:)
