So to make a long story short. I am having some insane MAF issues.
Before anything, please save yourself and me the time by not pointing me to the Forced Induction section since this is a non FI problem and is a stock maf/wiring problem.
I have a M50B25 Turbio build that we are finishing up. The car was running fine but about a week ago when we started the car it threw the check engine code. The Idle was bouncing up and down non stop. I shut the car down immediately and did the OBDI stomp check and received the code 1215 which points to the MAF...
No big deal. The maf went out and before trying to clean and reuse the maf I figured I should pull one off my 95 M3 (I hava a 95M3 Parts car and a 95M3 DD besides my 325i turbo). I swapped the mafs and behold the same problem. I figured since it was the parts car with a blown engine the maf might have been bad as well. I took my stock 325i maf and plugged it into my DD (other M3) and it threw a check engine code for MAF instantly.
So far 2 out of 3 MAFs Seem dead. I finally took my DD's Maf and put it into the turbo car and started the car. The car started, threw the check engine code again but it was running better (or it felt better) I drove the car around the neighborhood for a bit and when I got home I had to swap out MAFs so I can drive my M3 (DD). I put the stock MAF from the car into the M3 and the car threw a check engine code (The same maf that was working perfectly 10 minutes before). I figured maybe I mixed things up and swapped all 3 mafs out and every single one of them threw a Check Engine 1215 Code for a MAF. Now the M3 is impossible to drive the the maf connected. I now have 3 dead mafs. BTW, the intercooler puping isn't connected and the car isn't seeing any boost yet so this isn't a FI issue.
The car is now having weirder issues. No matter what MAF I put into it it just dies and if the maf is disconnected the car will idle fine, but if I touch the throttle the car will just simply die.
So now, 2 crappy running cars and 3 dead mafs later I really need help. I am thinking that there might be something wrong with the ECU or wiring to the MAF since the mafs are just getting fried after being connected to the car. I would apreciate any points in the direction I should go to figure this problem out. I am lost and really at the end of my rope.
Other things checked:
ICV Valve (Cleaned and Replaced as well) - Not the problem.
O2 Sensor, checked, remobed etc - Not the Problem.
Thank you for your help in advance.
