Can anyone advise on this? Which is better Turner or VAC? Should I do the upgrade? Are there any other pan upgrades out there?

Thanks for all of your help. Just want to make the best decision. The car is a 95 m3 turbo and I dont really track it at all.

Reason for doing this is that I may be doing some hard braking and cornering at some point and the pan is currently off because the gasket needed replaced and the drain plug was stripped. I just want to make the car better while I am down there

Do the S54 pan and oil pump. They can be found for a reasonable price if you look. You won't get the ticking lifters after 'spirited driving' that you do with the crappy S52 oil pan/pump.

It seems its true the S52 pump and pan isn't very good even if you baffle it.

So it seems the s54 swap is the way to go. Lots of $$ but I guess thats what ill do. I need a new pan anyway, so why not.

I have the VAC and track my car, no problems to speak of.

I have an S54 pan for sale if you want one. Then you just need to find the oil pump.

For a non-tracked car like the OP, no baffle is needed. If you want to baffle, the VAC is one piece and easier to install than the Turner although the baffle is ideally welded in place. Just one weld required. I use the VAC baffle.
