While I had my headliner replaced last summer the guy did not know how to get the panel out of the sunroof to recover it. It was not a major deal as it was still in good condition, until now. It is starting to sag a little in one corner and I know this is the beginning of the end. I have plenty of material for this from the headliner job in the summer, my long winded question is can the covered panel be removed without taking out the entire sunroof cassette and headliner ?
Thanks

I removed the sunroof from my car completely since it only opened halfway and weighs a good 50 pounds but I remember reading somewhere that if you partially open it you can remove the bolts on the sides holding the panel in.

You're talking about the inner panel? That is screwed onto the slidiing mechanism from the top with about a dozen screws. Take the outer panel off and unscrew the inner panel. Do not let the sunroof motor turn on before you get it back in.
