Use some goo gone or some orange goo remover (I use this), you just rub it in and scrape it off, works great and takes a minute.

Bug and tar remover. Works like magic. Just took off 3 big ass stickers off the back of a car my dad bought this weekend. No residue left.

Ive used a hairdryer and water before on smaller patches but its not quite as good as specialty cleaners.

I used "3M Adhesive" remover, got at advance auto parts for like $2, its safe on paint and glass and takes off residue in a snap!

You can use a piece of fishing line to remove the larger chunks. Just use it like a saw. After that, use goo gone and a little polishing compound. If you use rubbing compound, be careful, if you rub too hard you will remove the clearcoat.

Paint thinner.
Or leave it on, Pontiac for the win.

This is one of the good things that WD40 can do. It will disolve the glue and not harm the paint. All you need to do later is wash your car to take the WD40 off.

I think paint thinner will harm the paint

I used boat hull cleaner to remove the pinstripe residue on the Infiniti. I never realized how how much road grime can build up in such a short amount of time.

Its all about the WD40. 101 uses. I use WD40 to remove any black marks/scuffs with a microfiber and it does wonders! (especially the rear bumper where the tires kick dirt up on the side of it.
Just like previously mentioned, wash the area then maybe put a dab of wax to give it some protection.

The MSDS lists Naptha as Prep-Sol's™ first ingredient.
I believe the TIS would suggest Waschbenzin (Stoddard solvent / white spirit / mineral spirits). Rinse off the residue with plenty of water afterwards!

+1 on the WD40. I have a race car and we're constantly adding and removing sponsorship stickers, vinyl lettering, changing numbers, all that cr*p and the WD40 is great. Cheap too and laying around most garages in bulk! We carefully warm the stickers with a hair dryer, peel them off, then use the WD40 to remove any remaining residue.

brake fluid.
Brake fluid will ruin your paint. :confused
Just get some Goo Gone, spray it on and let it soak for a minute or two, then wipe it off. Repeat until your paint is clean
