BMW says our tranny fluid is lifetime. But we suggest you to change it every 60.000 miles or so. :)

Hi , The only way to check is to get the car up on a hoist and undo the filler plug to see.
Suggest you might consider a filter and fluid change if its done a few kms ... also change the pan gasket..
Good luck ... make sure you check which fluid you need ... there are 2 types.
ps Don't think they fitted a dipstick to that model .. annoying I know

So basicly no dipstick for the tranny fluid.

My '92 525 didn't have a tranmission dipstick, but that doesn't mean that the fluid is lifetime. I am from the school that believes in changing fluid at regualr intervals.
I am assuming none of the AT's have dipsticks now?

Newer bmw's doesnt even have an engine oil dipstick.. They are now depending on stupid sensors.
