Hey guys

I'll be doing my auto/manual swap this spring. I'm picking up my ZF tranny this weekend and I have a parts car for the rest. The clutch and flywheel in the parts car seem to be ok and my experience says that the Throw Out Bearing is more of a potential problem than any other part. So I want to replace just the Throwout Bearing when I do the swap. I am absolutely clueless on Throwout Bearing replacements. Is there a Name Brand I should be looking for?

I would stick with the OEM Sachs release bearing, $43 at Pelican.
I would strongly suggest that you take a long look at the friction disc.
If it is close to the rivets, you should replace the clutch. You do not want to have to go back in there. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks. I'm well aware of what to look for on the clutch and flywheel. Ive done clutch jobs before. I'm only replacing the throwout bearing because it is one of the weakest points of the clutch.

Looks about the same at RME. The TOB is what caused me to have to redo the whole clutch so yeah, good idea. I also got a new flex disc. mine was pretty toasty. You are probably on top of that though, I assume.
