I'm changing the serpentine and A/C belt on my M52 and also trying to remove the fan. I've printed instructions off the net on how to do it, but the job is pissing me off. Anyone want to come help, maybe bring the BMW fan clutch holder tool, and I'll buy you lunch?

I also have some other slightly more fun stuff to do, such as installing UUC SSK, TME, System*U, Red/White tails, corners, and sidemarkers, and Sawzalling two Acura Integra car shells into little chunks of metal.

I'm in Frederick.

Belts are cake. Just put a long-handled allen wrench on the tensioner, turn, and pop the belt off. I did both in 20 minutes start to finish.

Ah, if it were only that easy in my life. I either need to take the fan off or do the job from under the car. I can't get the fan off, so I need a lift. I can't get onto one until Tuesday.

Unless someone wants to come give me a hand, the car is going to a mechanic tommorrow.

You hit the nail on the head. You need to do the belts from under the car.

I did mine in my apartment parking lot with the car on jackstands. Piece of cake.
