Hi folks
I would like to know your opinion about fixing curb rash. Is it worth? How it should be done?
Thanks,
Jose

DO NOT go to Greens if you decide to repair your wheels.

Thanks SkinnyPuppy. My wheels are good but I am shopping for snow wheels and most of the older models have curb rash. Is the company in the link OK in your experience?

They need to be welded, ground and refinished...
Alot of expense for winter wheels...since youll just curb it again on ice. :D
If you want to burn money, I'm taking handouts :)

Thanks Iceman. I will follow your advice, since you have a lot more experience then me ;)
No, not burning money. However there are some old bills at home that I may burn! ;)

Just find some basketweaves with winter tires on craigslist... Theyre always listed and sometimes are clean with no rash... Mine are in pretty good shape... Not the best, but good enough for winter. I dont care for the rim but the blizzaks are NEW!

I usually repair my own if it's not to bad. I use a dremel with the small round sandpaper fitting, then sand it smooth by hand, re-clear coat and walla. Unless you really look hard, it's pretty invisible.

Good to know it is possible to repair it with a Dreamel. I thought about that, but I don't know where to get the clear epoxi coat...

I have been trying this. Look how much they are asking for them around here:

There is a guy on craigslist around your area that has BBS LM replicas for 600 I think. Use those for winter wheels

Thanks SkinnyPuppy. I think I missed this one.
I looked to bottlecaps with snow tires on, but the tires were more than half way through, around 4mm total depth...

I've always used duplicolor clear wheel coating. I'm handy with paint though.
