Crank position sensor

The sensor that connects to the bottom of the trasnmission bellhousing. What are some symptoms of it going if any?

I'm pretty sure mine isn't outputting correctly which is causing random misfires during start.

No spark or fuel. Car will crank over but no start.

Random misfires, random stalling, sometimes hard starting.

think it could cause a rough idle at start up, that goes away instantly when placed into any gear and does not come back?
