That's pretty cheap
I have found the OEM ones pretty tough, you could try some cleansing petrol, or paint thinner if that doesn;t work
whatever you do , don't use a metal object or anything sharp to get it off. I usually try to dilute the residue with paint thinner, and then some wax (cheapest) to make it into a mass that rubs off easily.

I wrapped a butter knife in a terry cloth to get the weights off. They all had them on lips. U think 3m adhesive remover is good or goo gone? 3m says safe for most paints. I used it to debadge my car but im just not sure if clearcoat on the wheels is like on car??????? Definitely gona wax wheels when i get a chance... Any good products i should go for?

goof off should be fine as long as you clean it off well as soon as you are done.

That is one heck of a deal.
And to think 11 years ago I paid $800 for a set of Basketweaves without tires.

OH REALLY! .....I never knew that!!!!!!!
Are the weights those little block lookin things ????
I always thought that was to hold a weld spot or something together....
Neat...Ya learn something new everyday!
But I i always see those on the INSIDE of the rim

Nice score! Are these wheels clear coated? I use aluminum polish on mine, then a wax. "Bada-Bing!"

Pop off the weights then use WD40 to remove the goop. WD40 is great at removing that kind of stuff.

OK..pardon me for having LARGE boobs.......but......
But if he takes the weights off.....wont that defeat the whole purpose of the balance issue.....and why the weights were put there in the first place?????

They will have to be balanced again when the tires are put on and they can put the weights on the back side of the rim so they don't show.

That is a great deal! I have been looking for a set with a similar deal for a while now so I can have dedicated track/autocross wheels.
Goo Gone should work wonders. Use a hair dryer to warm up the goo, then soak it in Goo Gone, then use a plastic disposable knife to scrape off

I will use a grocery store card and goo gone. Then wheel wax.

The clear coating should resist Googone very well. It is most likely epoxy and very resistant to chemicals in general.

Ditto...if you already have some WD40 sitting around the house...there's no need to go buy another product. WD40 is great for removing/dissolving sticky adhesive and tar like substances.
Just spray it on a rag and apply it to the sticky area...and it will begin to dissolve the adhesive...apply more if needed etc. ...then clean off what ever residue may be left over.
Simple, cheap, and easy. :)

Will do.

BTW..make sure you use a cloth rag to apply...using a paper towel absorbs the WD40 instead of alloying it to do it's thing on the adhesive.
You can use a paper towel in cleaning up...that's when you want the absorption power. :)

Deals are to be had on CL just have to be diligent and know whats a scam. Ive scored a one owner 99 Caddy Deville for 1000 a couple months ago. Not a scratch on it. Bought a 2 owner near flawless 99 Continental last week for $900. 42lb 8 pack of injectors for $50. Brand new $400 radar detector for $70..... just gotta shop.

Anyone know the best way to get a polished shine on clear coats or am I just working to hard. Not looking for "chromed" look, just want a little less of the matte look.
