Hi there,

I have a question....

MY E38 didnt come with headlight washers...& I REALLY want them.......I see there are already cut outs in the bumper and trim mounding pieces for the washer jets......

So in essence.....

Could I just replace the Fluid Reservoir for one WITH 2 Pump Housings ( Windshield/Headlamps )

Get another pump ( the pumps for heads/windows are the same i see )

Get the 2 spray nozzles for bumper AND chrome trim pieces

And get the appropriate hoses to run from fluid Res to Washer Nozzles ????

Thank You!!!

XOXO

That's a good question. I'm sure you can look it up on real OEM and see the parts required, but they are not that great and just seem to make a mess when in use.

Thats what i did...

and it seems all i need is:

Washer Res for Headlamps/Windo
Spray Nozzles
Extra Pump
Bumper Parts
And headlamp washer nozzle hoses

I have the chrome trim with holes, if you wanna trade your non holes for mine. You will just need the spray nozzles for them.

I was just thinking about getting rid of the sprayers.

Im so glad mine doesnt have them. Theyll end up sparying either the car in front of u or next to u... Or better, everything but your headlights will get sprayed. Probably when ur car is clean too...

I think the car would have to be coded for it as well. I do know that some cars will spray only every fourth time or the windshield is done, but mine does it every time....part of an intense spraying option in the coding.

3 of my nozzles work. The 4th just shoots a 4ft high fountain in front of the car. :(

Believe me when I say they are a PITA !!!! You will have to buy fluid by the keg, they dont do a lot, and as they only spritz when the lights are on, thats prolly an electrical programming thingy too. But, if anyone can do it.....you can. Good luck

Yeah I can't wait to get rid of mine this summer, the front end looks so much cleaner without them

I bought a 95 740i at auction to fix my 96 and the 95 came with headlight washers. She will be getting most parts from me for free for helping strip the 95 down in order to part it out.

I disconected mine. Everytime I washed the car or just wanted to clean my windshield I ended up with waterspots all over my hood. I'd advise against them as they do nothing.
