I've got 2 M50's with 5 speed transmissions, both out of '92 325i's for sale. Both motors were running when pulled. Both have blown headgaskets. Long blocks only, no intakes or electronics. One transmission worked well, the other needs a 2nd gear syncro. They have been sitting outside.

$50 for one and get the 2nd one free.

define "apart"

Maybe, the head would need to be completely gone through.

head off the block and probably oil pan off the block. I need to do some measuring but I think that will allow the engines to fit in my car.

Heads could be warped, may need valve seals... may even need valves.

I'de like to keep them together, for $50 I dont want to do much work. I'll think about it.

Take out the passenger seat and you can stick it in there. Whole thing.

lol, I have a friend that will be riding there plus I'm afraid of damaging the car. I put an m20 engine block in the back seat of my e30 so I feel like it would fit pretty easily in the e39 with it torn down. I'll measure and see if it will fit as one piece, but the next problem is the sheer weight - we can move the engine block by hand, but there's no way we can move the whole engine by hand.

BTW, here's how I handled this in the past :rofl
