Hey guys I need help my car thru the check engine light today. I pulled the codes and it came out p0455 and p0441. I don't know what to check. I read somewhere that those codes have something to do with the Evap system? Any info will be greatly appreciated !!!!!!!!

Anyone????

P0441 - Evaporative Emission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow What this means - The code lets you know that part of the EVAP system is not functioning properly. The EVAP system contains many different parts, for example the gas cap, vacuum lines, carbon canister, purge valve, etc. The EVAP system keeps gas fumes from entering the atmosphere. Gas fumes run through a charcoal canister for storage. When the engine is running the purge control valve opens allowing engine vacuum to suck the gas fumes into the engine and burns it. If the PCM signals purge and sees that the switch is closed (indicating no detected purge flow) P0441 is set. This can be caused by a vacuum leak, stuck valve, bad wiring, bad PCM.

And a vacuum leak can stem from a leaky gas cap. Or a missing one.

The cheapest thing to do -- it's free -- is to test the gas cap for leaks. Go to the parts store. They can test the ability of the cap to hold a seal. They can also sell you a new cap for 15-ish bucks.

The PCM is expensive, so it is at the bottom of the list of usual suspects. Bad wiring is just above the PCM. Vac leaks can be any of the several miles of hoses, normally the hoses leak at the ends where they connect to the various components.

Thanks you guys, I ended up looking thru all vacume hoses and finally found a leak at the charcoal canister in the rear right wheel well. One of the two connections on the charcoal canister was broken. Unjust replaced it with a new one and check engine light is gone!!!!
