Any one have any experience with Kumho Ecsta XS on their cars?
Especially E39's?

I'm looking for new tires, and have been interested in Hankook V12's, Falken Azenis Pt-722, Bridgestone Potenza Re760, Nitto NT 55, Yokohama Advan S4, and Continentals Conti extremeContact DWS....

since I have staggered 18's (235,40,18 and 265-35-18), their kinda pricey.

But I called some place nearby me and they had the Kumho's for $450 all four installed after taxes.... Which is a on average $300+ cheaper than most of these other sets.

So it's perked my interest.

Anyone have any experience? bad or good. Or can say that another set of four for about $700ish will be significantly better?

Had a set on my E39 530i-5, had them mounted on some BBS LM replicas. They were decent tires for the money as far as I remember. Decent traction in the wet and relatively low noise - which are my main concerns for a DD tire

I had them on my Evo. Even did one track day at LS and few autox. They are good for how much they are. Will not last too long depending on how you drive. If you want more grip, I recommend Hankook RS-3.

They are good tires. I too would recommend Hankook RS-3's or Dunlop star specs...though they are all good tires. Also Nitto Nt-05's.

hankook v12's are not similar tires in any way. much lower performance.
