can I replace 13" wheels with 14"

Of course you can. You could even go crazy and put 15s on it.
Any tire store will help you with the new tire size or there are calculators online.

thanks, forgive me; I'm just putting my Dad's car on the road and now nothing about the 320i. Can't find a really good 13 tire so wondered about a 14; seems to be more choices. Can you give me info on how it's done and what I need to say at the tire store.

Tell them the size of the original tires and twll them you want to do a "plus one" conversion to 14-inch wheels and tires. Stock wheels off of an E30 will work just fine, if you haven't already purchased new wheels.
