Picked this up tonight. Garrett linked me so i thank him for that. The seller was a stand up guy, and had a brilliantrot on black 60k mile 91 M5 on polished tstars. Such a great car.
I didnt know this existed, and on google a quick search turns up a breyton kit, but its not this front bumper. Seriously rare and cool.
Its in great shape as well which was surprising. Its such a high quality fiberglass part. It fits in place of the stock bumper. The metal bits on the sides sit screw into the spot where the guides go on the sides of the car. you slide the bumper on the rods, and then tighten it with a screw. It even has a removable tow hook cover and the ability to mount the stock fog lights.
Im going to test fit this on my e34 some point soon.

Quality looks top notch. Very cool.

This is the only kit from them for an e34 a quick search showed:

Nice looking piece Steve. Molded in euro trim and license plate holder FTW!
Jon, not everybodies bumper scrapes on pebbles. We might want them to, but not all do.

Its funny though - been driving sisters 530 w/ H&R springs billy sports, and her bumper lip touches the curb at work. Not enough to bend, but I hear "scraaaaaape". Its not that high of a curb either. Glass would crack.

However if it were your car and it had glass, you'd be driving home with nothing more than bumper shocks showing. :D

Ha yeah - in my car I look in the reflection of other cars to make sure I am no where near the curb.
Nice score, I like. It's different.

Oh yeah - speed bumps are a disaster. I have to enter the parking lot at work at this one ridiculously far away entrance at the right angle. The one spot I like to park in, if I pull through, I scrape on the drain grate.

And Hey, not everyone wants a bumper that "scrapes pebbles"

Looks nice but the ambient temp sensor doesn't have a hole to get outside air and if it is going on your 540 there is no alternator cooling duct.

As long as you don't cram the temp sensor in the engine bay it works fine. Mine has been in either msport bumper I've had and it is still accurate.

Perhaps your depth perception is not what it used to be.. why park so close to the curb?
Or maybe because it's her car you have blatant disregard for the front bumper. :stickoutt

I haven't had the vent for my 540 in the 2 years of ownership with no issues. Not sure how important it really is, lol.

I don't have the cooking duct either on my msport.
Now I have to decide what to do with it

What do you need, my shipping address? Either one will be fine, keep it a secret. It will be more fun that way. Hell you can even gift wrap it for me for christmas. :shifty

Like the bumper....but a little concerned with reduced airflow to the lower radiator area.

Damn nice find! Looks cool/slightly different. I like it.
I'd say it looks better on a car with a wide kidney though, I like the picture you found from google, aside from the narrow grille.
Toss it on your red car and see how it looks? Seems like theres enough people on here diggin it that if you hate it you can always profit haha

The style suits the E34 great, the only thing i don't like is the super tiny center opening. Needs moar flowz for intercoolerz.
Tre0Tre34
11-23-2011, 07:49 PM
Can't the center opening just be cut out? Seems that's what I would do with it, especially since the indentation is already there. Bet it would look real clean with some black Chrome mesh behind.
I like how your lower lip is slightly higher in the middle unlike the posted pic.

wow, i never knew breyton did kits on e34, this one looks good i think.. just curious why the cover next to the foglamp bolted?

That should be a cut out for the tow hook.

I like the look of that a lot, especially those slight rear arch flares. I would feel better with the lower front opening being a little larger on the bumer cover, but still a very clean look that doesn't try to be all swoopy.

Yeah, how do you remove it if you need to be towed? Jack it up and unbolt it? Something tells me that the way that cover is currently mounted isn't what Breyton had in mind...
Steve547i
11-28-2011, 08:39 PM
You turn the rods and remove said cover. Easy as long as you aren't slammed to the ground.

As long as its not a track car, it should be fine, right? I like it for a clean street car.

Those mounting brackets are ingenious. Those would solve the problem of mounting the aftermarket M5 bumpers.

The M5s oil cooler is rather large and pretty important if you drive spiritedly at all.

Looks better on a wide grill car. Wouldn't mind one for the Touring. But after the holidays I is pretty broke. Sucks 'cause there's a bunch of nice stuff for sale now that I'd pick up if the $ was there to spare...

Looks good but even one accidental curb scrape ( and it happens to all of us at SOME point!) would wreck the fiberglass. Love the look tho.
And I really need to figure out how to level my front bumper. These cars look soo much better when everything lines up in the front, mine is off just enough to look bad.
