Hi there, my cousin has a late 2006 MCS turbo and i changed the oil on it today only to find that a mere 1 litre came out of it, is this normal for them to consume oil? she only checked it two months ago when she bought it and it was on the maximum mark.

I top my oil off every 1,000 miles so yes, oil consumption is normal. Did you check the oil when you bought the car?

Yep it was on maximum when she bought it last month and not even on the bottom of the dipstick when i dipped it yesterday before the oil change.

It is because the oil is depositing itself in the form of carbon on the valves...more than likely due to the insufficient crankcase vent system in the valve cover. It is very common on the Prince engine, your cousin's car will need to have a decarbonizing procedure once it starts to misfire.

The R56 was available earlier in Europe than in the USA (since late 2006).
