Well after a year of driving around a car with the nickname of "Ping" my brother and myself have gotten around to changing that. Last November here in Phoenix we had a huge hail storm. It destroyed every roof in my neighborhood along with many cars. I have been looking around trying to find a place I could afford to get the car repaired and painted. Well its just outside the budget. So my brother was like, well just hard can it be? Well to tell you the truth its not hard, its just very very tedious. Yesterday we got the second coat of primer on the car and its looking pretty damn good. I dont expect it to look new, but I do want to be something I can be proud of again. Its a 16 year old car after all. I will put up some pictures if anybody wants to see it as it sits now and of course after its color painted and buffed out. I'm pretty proud of our work and its a huge savings! I cant wait to get some color on it.

Plus on living in arizona. Don't need no paint box to cure the paint.. Just roll it out into the sun :D

Painting a car is quite the task. The key is the prep and sanding. Just goes to show that what really determines the end result is how well you do the really really boring stuff.. :)

Last time i was involved in a garage paint job. We counted 26 mosquitos drowining in the paint job before we was ever finished spraying it.. :D

Volvo 245Dl estate .. Painted stock dark kermit green :D

Yeah a lot of sanding and re-sanding and spraying is involved. I agree if you get the car smooth and dent free while priming the base coat of color will be great. No mosquitos around here and the white fly's aren't out as its not there time of the year. We will color spraying in an enclosed garage instead of my carport. I cant wait to be able to wash and wax my car again, its not as much fun when it looks like a golf ball.
