Yes pics! Where are they?

You know you have to host them somewhere else right? And link them here.

Sweet. Welcome!
What are you're plans for it?

First fix some minor bits and pieces like a broken shifter bind, coolant sensor... the like. Then maybe some HID fog lights and smilies. If my budget stretches to it maybe some m parallels.

Looks nice! that cup holder though....where did you get it??? That is the one thing I hate about the E34...

I know :) I've encountered my first problem now that the remote for the central locking doesn't work. The previous owner said that he removed the battery and replaced it and the ignition wouldn't recognize that the lock was off. I remember seeing a post about re syncing the key with the car. Could that be my problem?

Black over black presents itself very well in the E34. Congratulations on the car, your first car, nonetheless.

Gravik, I think that is a factory cup holder. My car came with one. It just rests on the trim. I've dumped my coffee twice so far.

Nice car, I would second the idea of the exhaust tip moving on. Those cupholders are available on eBay

I will haha in time ill get rid of it. Does anyone have any thoughts on the key issue ive found threads that say you can put the chip from the key fob back into the alarm itself and others that say all you have to do is put it in the ignition. Thanks for all the comments in really excited about this car : )

Wish my interior looked like that. I hate the beige.

I pulled the chip out of the key fob, stuck it in the alarm control module, held down the button for a bit and put it back in the fob. Works great. I had purchased the fob with a whole alarm system from a member here only to realize I already had everything except the fob...

Alright thanks I found a tutorial online on how to do it. I'll try it when the battery and replacement key rubbers come.

hey post a link for the coolant level sensor when you find one...
your going to love that black interior... my car looks like shit on the outside but my mint black leather interior makes my cars external imperfections tolerable for the mean time...

congrats on your first car! low miles even and black on black is the bees knees!

Thanks man :) I ordered the sensor from bavauto.com along with some other parts the part number was 61 31 1 378 320 . Hope that helps and only 25 bucks too

The 540i alarm system is unique to the 540i only, and they do not have a chip that you can remove to program it with your alarm module.
It's pretty easy to sync it though.
Get in the car
Close drivers door
Turn the key to position 1 and back to off and take the key out within 5 seconds
Hold the left button, and push the big round button in the middle 3 times, keep holding the left button.
Locks will close and open to confirm remote sync.
