I have a '93 E36 and i need to find some cheap winter tires that will get me through the winter. Im looking to spend less than 300 for a set of 4. Tire size would have to be 205/60/15. Any suggestions? or is this not feasible?

Did you check here:

or, maybe, you should change size (aspect ratio - width combination) or consider used?

Of the cheap snow tires out there, the only one I can recommend are the ones the rigs at my work use -- studded Hankook iPike w409. They actually do well in the snow and have held up fairly well.

My vehicle has had them for 3 seasons and still have good traction. I drive an LLV, which is a rwd aluminum body on a chevy S10 frame. Usually loaded with stuff in the winter.

If you are really thrifty, you can buy some off of Craigslist. 205/60/15 and 205/65/15 are very common sizes. Just do yourself a favor and check the DOT date codes. If they are more than 5-6 years old, I would probably pass on them, even if they have lots of tread. A lot of people buy snow tires, then trade in the car. They keep the tires to make a few extra bucks, since the dealer won't give them anything in trade for that.

I am too lazy to look in your CL, but it took me 30 seconds to find these on my own CL:

You could easily sell those wheels for $100 to $150 so you can get them mounted on your wheels.

Just remember that you don't have to get the tires fitted at the place you bought them! I bought our tires at Canadian Tire as they were on sale and they also had an offer on buy 3 and get the 4th free. I then loaded the tires in the trunk and got them fitted at Walmart because they were cheapest for fitting.

Take a look at the FIrestone Winterforce at 73.00 each and go down to a 195/65R15. The narrower tire will give you better traction in the snow. If I can help let me know.
