Has anyone seen this? There is something oil at base of the side sun shade cover. It's spreading along the length of the window molding plastic.

Over oiled during manufacture or leaking from shade assembly?

EDIT: looks like it not completely uncommon. http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=591325

Anyone now how to remove the assembly? It was easy on the e39, but it looks like this is attached differently, and I can't figure it out.

Haven't noticed. Guess I need to check it out.

I had the same thing on one of my windows. The dealer replaced the shade assembly under warranty. The assembly uses oil to keep it working smooth and a seal had gone bad.

I took mine it. Claimed it was overspray during detailing. I know that's not the case. It's definitely a thin oil. Thanks for the info.

Mine has it too. I cleaned it up with a q-tip and it has not come back...
