Just wanted to see if this is a bad idea. I've seen 245/40 but not sure if the 35 profile will cause any issues.
Thanks in advance

see 35 done all the time with no problems....should be fine but 245 on an 8 in will have tire hanging over the side...i believe 225 is the perfect fit for 8

Thanks for the replies. Ideally I'd like to go 245 all around but like above said, 235 is probably the more appropriate size tire. But I've also read that Falcon 452 (the tire I'd be getting) run a little narrow, in which case I'd get the 245.
Anyone have experience with this tire?

its your choice, but even if the falken runs narrow, the 245 will still hang over a little.....at least you wont have to worry about curbing the lip of your wheel because they will be set in a little and your tire will take most of the hit....pics when u get them mounted!!
btw, ive heard nothing but good things about them.....only consistant thing was that they didnt grip well when it was really cold, go figure.....but most people are impressed and a friend has them on his 370z, he loves them

I ran that exact tire (FK-452 in 245/35-17) on 9" rims and it was slightly stretched. You'll be fine on the 8" rim. The tire works well in most all conditions. It doesn't "shine" in any particular conditions. However, as the temp drops (below about 40f) it does start to get a bit slippy.

i saw this

17x8 et10 225/45/17 front
17x8 et10 245/40/17 rear
i guessing for the style 5s? you will need a very agressive pull/roll

Yeah this would be for the style 5s. I pulled my fronts already to fit my current setup and the rears are almost completely rolled (minus the rust proofing rubber stuff) and a little pulled.
When I test mounted the style 5s with the 235/45/17 winter tires, they actually fit with some good clearance even at my current ride height. This leads me to think after measuring it out that 245/35 should just about fit after a little more rolling in the rear (after I cut out that rubber stuff, and apply some rust proofing, of course).

Thanks, yeah I'd previously read some good stuff about the 452s and tires in that size are limited anyway.

Thanks for the info, that helps. If they were a bit stretched on a 9" they should be good for an 8".

haha thanks, no I'm still keeping them. I need to buy new tires for these next season anyway, but I also have some style 5s so I'm thinking of running them come Spring. I love the VMRs, the concavity in mesh wheels is beautiful.
