Hi,
Were the grab handles in the B pillars located on top of the front seat belts standard on all 6 series. Mine did not have one and when I was installing a new seat belt i did not notice any hole nor attacment point in my B pillar.
thanks in advance,

I have never seen any without them, on the last models they were made of leather. Perhaps euro models did not have them like US models.

Thanks Barry for the reply. Any more replies from other members?

My old 633 had long grab handles mounted on the ceiling rather than the B-pillar straps. It was a 1977 car and Ive seen this setup on a 1976 car and a couple of other 1977s, though on all the '78 onwards cars I've seen they all have the B-pillar straps.

Have always liked the roof mounted handles on the early coupes rather than the later B-pillar straps. These are mounted to the pillar sheet metal (no backing plate) with 2 flimsy sheet metal screws per strap. Both straps on my 88 M6 have had several of the screw holes stripped, thereby necessitating the use of bigger screws. The roof handles offer more functionality (hanging jackets and such...rear passenger(s) stabilizing) and look much better than the straps IMO. I tend to find these straps more appropriate on plush and cushy Cadillacs and Lincoln Continentals than on a Teutonic sports coupe.
