Hi all.

Performed a search and havenīt found anything related to this problem.

Today i went to do an ICV cleaning, when i realize there were some oil on the ICV itself. I traced back to the plastic plug wich conects the ICV rubber curve to the intake manifold and found the manifold right behind the thottle body, soaked with oil. The oil, i recon, is coming from the vent on the top of the valve cover that has 2 hoses, one large and another small.

Is it a good idea to put in an oil catcher to colect that oil instead of sending it to the manifold?

I also have a lot of oil/sludge in my intake manifold, throttle body, and even in the intake boot (1993 325is, m50, almost 300k miles). I am thinking it is due to blowby coming out of the crankcase vent. How many miles does your engine have? Plumbing this crap into the intake doesn't seem like it will increase the remaining life of the motor any... I am considering adding a punk can and putting the sludge in there instead. Also planning to pull the intake manifold and do a thorough cleaning.

Why don't you replace the pcv valve and clean the intake manifold and see if that helps.

Yesw, take a look at the PCV valve, sometimes called a cyclonic seperator. Replacing it is pretty easy.
