I guess the first party that had the car played dukes of hazard and blew out the shock bushings. shocks still seem good but they pulled out of the mounts. Mounts, whats left is still there. What do I need in this pic and what can be reused? I would just order everything, maybe, if I needed it and had time for research but I want to go get it from the parts store tomorrow, thanks.

You'll want 4, 8/9 and 13. 13 is a paper gasket that keeps water out of the interior of the car. 4 is the bump stop. 8/9 is the actual mount. The other parts are re-usable except I think for the lock nut on top of the shock (might actually come with the shock -- I don't remember for sure, although I've done 2 cars). I also replaced 3 on the ones I did. It's just a plastic sleeve that keeps splash away from the shock shaft.

www.ecstuning.com (http://www.ecstuning.com) has an actual "kit" already pieced together for this. Thats what im ordering. My roomate ordered the same thing when we rebuilt his rear end and it fit great and works awesome. It comes with a Meyle HD rear strut mount, Z3 reinforcement plate, paper gasket, and 2 new nuts for like $56. Not bad.

Man, if I could only get that by tomorrow I would be all over it. Oh well, have to see what the auto store will steal me for. I HAVE to get them fixed now as one of them is jammed literally threw my inner fender well 3" in front of the original mounting hole. Its jammed all the way up the stem to the rubber grommets!!

If the shocks are still good you can just replace the mount, I found Meyle mounts on e-bay for $26+ shipped from Pro Car Parts, or if you want them fast check on e46 from the parts store or dealer. http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E36-E46-Rear-Shock-Mounts-Pair-2-Meyle-HeavyDuty-/120587244464?hash=item1c138f53b0&item=120587244464&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr#ht_2243wt_1139

Well, just did them. Parts store didnt have the paper and I dont think that would have helped, unless the paper is 1/2" thick? I can see all kinds of sun coming from there, odd, as there is no rust up in there between the mount and body. Guess I will have to get a bunch of cheap silicone and goo it all up around there as thats about all the could fill the gap cheaply. Either way, that done!
