Purchased a set of Angel Eye rings for my e36 from Streetune on ebay. The package arrinved quickly and appeared in good condition.
Before installing the rings I plugged everything together (the rings into the inverters) then attached them to my battery charger (positive to positive/negitive to negitive). Three of the rings illuminated as they should, one did not. While unplugging the rings the one that didn't light up broke, the inner ring that lights up was broken and slid out of the outer ring.
I contacted the seller and they said there was NO WAY it was an issue on their end, but must have been something I had done.
I had not dropped the rings, had not mishandled the rings. All I did was open the box, take the items out on the table, and plug them in.
The entire set was only $46.00 with free shipping, they said they would send me a replacement ring for $12.00 shipping. The ring weighs practically nothing, the break was in no way my fault but they don't stand behind their product.
My advice is NEVER buy from them, they dont care about customer satisfaction

FIRST - have you tried getting FedEx to payoff - sounds like the thing was damaged in shipment!
The seller, who paid for the shipping should help you out - I hope you have not thrown away the packaging, if you did, you are S.O.L.
Other tack to take is to give them negative feedback, and contact both Ebay and PayPal
-and, if you paid them thru PayPal via your Credit Card,
contact CC Company and see if you can rescind payment.
Maybe they will see the light and give you the replacement item, though I'd say paying them $5 to ship via Express Mail is a decent compromise.
I had problems trading on Ebay when they initially started up - so long ago.
Then nothing but clear sailing.
Now, recently, have had several bad experiences.
Times are bad, and people are pressed, and seller are crafty.

I always check feedback. Especially the negative feed back. if its just negative feedback from someone who didn't read the listing carfully then I ignore it. You can usually tell if the negative feedback is legit or not. If someone has thousands of sales and a half dozen negatives then they are probably still ok.
They offered to replace it so you'll have a hard time getting your money back from paypal or the CC company. Just because it doesn't weigh anything doesn't mean it should only cost a couple bucks to ship. Size is just as important. Look at the USPS flat rate boxes. Those rings would never fit in a small $5 box so you have to go up to the next size. Even though they weigh next to nothing.
Get a replacement and call it a day. Then leave negative feed back for them. They always have the opportunity to reply to it.

Problem is, I left feedback when they arrived BEFORE testing (stupid me, I trust everyone). I contacted them, even stating that I had no idea if it was broken before it left their shipping area, broken during shippment or if somehow I had broken it. I FIRMLY believe it was'nt me, as all I did was open the box, take each ring out of their individual plastic sleeve, laying them on a towel on the table. I took each resister and pluged the halo's in, then attached the power supply cords to my battery charger ... all without ever touching the rings again. 3 lit up, one didn't.
The woman I have been corresponding with assured me it didn't happen before they were shipped. I asked if they open and test each light before shipping ... "Of course they don't, they don't have time to test every order." So, that being the case why does she believe it couldn't have been broken from the manufacturer itself?
It just (can't use the word I want here) me off. At $12 for shipping, added to the $46 I already paid, I could have gotten the blue ones I wanted but settled for the white because they were cheaper.
I am not asking them for a refund, just a replacement ring ... I even offered to send the broken one (after sending 4 individual pictures of it) back to them to check and they weren't interested ... again, they don't have time to test every return.
What kind of a company doesn't stand behind what they sell? I feel as if they knew one ring didn't work, therefore providing free shippment knowing all along that they would get more money at a later date.
It's up to all of you, but I would suggest AVOIDING this ebay seller.
