So I searched the FAQ but I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for. I've got a 98 M3. My radio and AC/Heat controls only some on sometimes. The radio still works all the time but the screen goes in and out and is dim most of the time. When the air comes on and decides to work the screen is stuck on 60 degrees but it feel like the heat is definitely on. Is this a common problem and what should I be looking to replace to fix this problem before winter? Thanks guys
Anything???

I would pull both the radio and climate control from the dash, disconnect and clean both the plug/plugin slot for each with electrical contact cleaner, and then reinstall.
The radio removal "screwdriver" has a bit that looks "Pentagon -shaped."

If you don't know your anti theft radio code, the dealer can give it to you. I took the radio to them so that they could look at the serial number.

Thanks.....I'll start there.
Could be two unrelated problems. There's a very common fault with the electronic climate control where it seems to have a mind of its own (doesn't respond to buttons, changes settings on its own, etc) - search for climate control capacitor. There used to be a guy who you would fix it for $50, others with soldering skills have fixed it themselves.
Used E36 OEM head units are cheap...check the classifieds here.
