I could have sworn I saw something about a kit or directions with part numbers on how to rebuild injectors...
A few of mine are showing their age, but I'm not ready to go 24-lb yet, and I'd rather not buy 6 new ones if eventually I'll likely be upgrading anyway.

my recent inquiries didn't really turn anything up, but the consensus is that they don't need to be proactively replaced as their operation is pretty much yay or nay.

Should have just researched "Injector Rebuild"
I believe this is what your talking about. It was like the 4th option on the search.

I did it with my old car. WIll do it again. Basically it's just the filters. May not be a bad idea to get them sonically cleaned. I think it's like $20 each.

Search wasn't working for me at the time. What I'm seeing is that the injector end (as opposed to the inlet end) plastic is deteriorating, and I'm wondering if that plastic is available separately somehow. is this the "pintle cap"? apologies, I sound like a dumbass
edit: ebay link in the thread is what I'm going with. very nice, thank you sir.

that s 4 bucks cheaper per injector than the place I normally use for the same level of service
i ll be doing some major work on my car this winter and I decided to flow those injectors from my DIY about 20k miles after I put in new screens and pintle caps, because racecar...not...just earlier this October

see the attachment in that post
as you can see, those same injectors from my DIY, which were NOT sonic cleaned were still extremely close to post-cleaning results. I'd say sonic cleaning is not imperative but replacing screens and pintle caps and spraying in brake cleaner a necessity. those injectors had 140k miles at refresh and 160k miles at sonic cleaning
A member here rebuilds injectors. Dano. Ill send him to this thread.
