Power Steering Issue

My mechanic said I need a new PS pump, I told him I really didn't want to do that right now and mentioned that I put in Pentosin ChF11s. He told me I should drain my resovoir and fill it with atf, drive it around some, drain it again and fill it with more atf and Lucas PS additive, what do you guys think?

Yeah, I took out the CHF11s that I put in and replaced it with ATF, I don't even think the Pump is sucking. The only thought besides a bad pump is that whatever PS Hose Clamp they tightened is too tight. The fluid smelled burnt before, that is why I got the CHF11s. Really dumb of me, trying to get the best of the best. Spent $20 on a product that wasn't for my Bimmers
