View Full Version : (another) Cup holder ring question.

Ill admit I like to drink in my car (DD iced coffees are too damn good!). Like everyone else in the world, I hate my cup holders, and Im thinking about a custom one like the UUC one, but I really dont want to drill into my interior. Does the cup holder ring fit in the later modular cup holder design (i have a '99). And is it any good?

Sell the "sports car" and buy a civic?

I looked for a while too, for a decent solution. There was none so I deleted the cup holders completely.

I'm going to machine the inside of the ring so something bigger than a soda can will fit in it . I have a 95 .

I was about to buy an old center console thinking it was much better than my 98 sedan.

I just broke down and bought one of those consoles that sit on the passanger seat. Now I can have a coffee and a Jamba Juice without interfering with shifting.

my 95 cup holder fits well...I think it has the ring you're talking about. Where as my 95 325 doesn't. To me it looks like it could be made from something (short piece of pipe etc)...haven't looked into it much.

From Germany: Why are you concerned about cup holders? The car is supposed to be driven, not to be meant to have beverages in.

The old style cupholders came on 92-96 cars. The newer style came on 97-99 ones. The old style cupholder does have a ring you can take out allowing you to fit bigger drinks in there.

Take out the original cup holders and saw off the bottom 2/3 of each...instantly larger cup holder that can fit most beverages!
