There's a set of 285/30/18's and 255/35/18's at my work. They are brand new and I could purchase them for an extremely cheap price. I've got a set of 18" style 5's in 8 and 9 inch widths, wondering if it would be possible to make these fit.

It's seems like they are at the boarder of physically being to big, but being so cheap, it's hard not to think about them. Not looking for a sporting setup, these would be used more just for shows ect. Thanks guys.

Oh and here's some pics for your help :buttrock

The 255 are recommended for a minimum 8.5" wheel, and the 285 on a 9.5". I did some searching and found many people running those size tires on 8/9" wheels though. Do some research on the exact tire and see what people say. Some tires tend to run narrower. If they're cheap enough, just buy them and try it. If they don't work out, resell them.

The tires are Bridgestone Potenza S-02's, any idea if they are prone to being narrower? They look damn wide haha

They should work on those rim widths no problem! Now fender clearance, that I don't know...

I would not say they are going to fit with no problems. You are stretching the tires past where the tire manufacturer recommends. I think they will fit on the rim with the stretch.
I did not see where you said what car they are going to go on though.

They will hopefully be going on my '00 M coupe. Would it just be hard to get the tires on? or could it be dangerous to run them? Appreciate it Jim, I know you've helped me out in the past:thumbup:

I think they would fit on the car. They would be a little stretched but I am pretty sure they would work.
