I have cables from the eBay PA Soft 1.3.6 kit... I have a Galletto 1260 USB interface, I have a OBD2 --> 20 pin adapter and I have a Dell D630 laptop running WinXP 32 with a real COM1 port.

For the life of me I can't get any combination of the above to communicate through INPA 3.01.

I am running EDIABAS 6.4.3 and the IPH32 Server.

EDIABAS.ini has "Interface =STD:OBD"

Can someone please suggest a combination of the above that will work with a 98 540i (E39)?

You need an ADS type interface to get the full functions using the bmw tools.

Isn't the serial-to-20 pin interface that comes with PA Soft BMW Scanner 1.3.6 an ADS interface?? If not, what are you referring to?
