Hi All,
Finally got SSS Progman to work and see my car.
When looking around, it keeps showing the error "The following units did not respond correctly...." Then it displays the following. It says update will take 114 minutes. Should I do it or will it cause big issues?
CAS Must be reprogrammed
Part no, Progr ECU 9147216 (IS)
9147226 (Should)
SGM-ZGM/KGM Must be reprogrammed

If you choose to do any programming you must have your car connected to a power supply for this process.

Hi,
I have a great battery charger etc. Is it ok to click yes and update it all or is it a risc of a major failure?

Is there a reason you want to do the update?
If yes and you want to proceed I hope you know what you are doing.
If you want to do the update with your OBD cable, be advised that the update can take more then 8 hours. If during that your power supply fails..... the programming will stop.
CCC-A is the part that takes most of the time.
If you want to program a single ECU, you can use WinKFP.
With program its all or nothing.

Hi,
a coupld of reasons why.
I wanted to adjust the rain sensor to reset as new windscreen fitted but Progman wont let me unless all updated.
When my car goes in for a service, they will charge me a fortune for the service due to the updates.
I have never used WinKFP?
cheers,

Personally, I would not recommend this. What are you thinking theyd charge you for at the time of service?
A dealer should charge you a max of 1.5 hrs labor for a software update. If something crashes then, it is their problem. Id advise strongly against anyone performing updates on thier car. I have seen many things go wrong and if you are using bootleg software, youll have no recourse.

They say the update will take 4 hours so four hours labour, £280 for the update, £300 for the service = £580 total

You could get the dealer to reinitialise the rain sensor.
DIS can safely reinitialise the rain sensor in a few secs, much safer than coding.
You don't need a battery charger; you need a PSU. Some chargers are too clever and do things like battery desulphation cycles which is the last thing you want when coding.
As already mentioned CCC is in the list and that takes a lot of programming - but BMW dealers originally used the OBD socket for coding whole cars although it was problematic and could take a few attempts (days).
If you've got Progman running you must have INPA running and I think that can sort out your rain sensor too.
