Buying new tires

I tried doing a search here w/ my iPhone app and nothing came up oddly.

Do I need to a wheel alignment when I buy the tires? I have had cheap cars in the past and it was rarely done only if it needed it. The alignment as it is now is perfect because it was done by a BMW dealership before I bough it. I know it should be done by someone who knows how to do BMWs.

I would recommend taking the car to a shop that has a laser aligning machine. Don't take it to a big automotive chain. Tell them you want a print up of the car's alignment readings before and after the car was aligned. Then you will know if you really needed the alignment or not. Heck, if they're a good shop and they want your business, they might hook it up, check your alignment, and tell you it's ok (if it is).

PS. If you're really a performance guy, you might not want stock alignment settings. Do a little research ;)
