Is there any danger to tires if they are mounted on the rim and on the car but they have no air? My 3 piece wheels are leaking air which caused my tires to go flat. They have been sitting like that for about a 1 month. I just ordered a spare set of wheels which will be putting on the car to fix my other wheels ....now I am worried about my tires having flat spots or them getting bubbles as it could be dangerous while driving.

Bottom line with my tires sitting without any air in them is there any cause for alarm and should I still drive on them?

I don't know the long term effects or damage caused to the tires, but i would lessen them by raising the car in the air by placing 4 jack stands underneath the car(in the proper position of course).

The tire sidewalls at the bottom might be damaged by the compression between the wheel and ground. I agree with the prior poster, get the vehicle frame up on blocks and remove the potential for sidewall damage, if it hasn't already happened.

well its already been said put the car in the air..otherwise you will have the full weight of the car on the flat tires....and could cause multiple issues that could be dangerous when driven on

forgot i had these pics on my phone..this jag came in on a flat bed with this

according to him he had been home about a week after 2 months away for work he came back to two flats one on the rear one on the front...

tire was about 40to 50 percent thru its life , he got home and filled them up and did mostly local city trips , then got on the highway when it separated...

of course nothing sticks out as the reason it happened but its def something to think about...all tires are different so you could easily have two matching tires that will react differently to the same situation

Take the tires off the wheels and examine the inside of the tires. The bead area is where I would be looking at the most. That is a lot of weight sitting on just the rubber tire. If I can help let me know.

What should I be looking for when examining the tires? Also Gary fro
Tirerack stated that I should be fine?

Have the tire store just examine them. I checked with our guys here and they would just make sure. You are resting the weight of the car on the belts of the tire.

What does the tire shop have to look for? What are signs of damage? What are signs of problem?

There can be cuts or indentations in the area where the wheel is resting on the tire.
