My 6 is doing something weird. I'll go out to start it and it won't start, won't even try. I'll wait 5-10 minutes go back and try to start it again and it will start. What could this be? Also i was wanting to know of a good websites to buy parts, oem and aftermarket.

Are you saying the engine won't turn over or it will spin but not catch?

My 635 did that a couple of years. It would not start after stopping, had to wait before starting it again. turned out to be the distributor cap. might be worth checking that.

There's a little buzzing sound and that's all it does i think the buzzing is from the battery

The buzzing is probably a relay that won't throw properly.
Try to track down which one is doing it and replace it.

The buzzing is from the idle control valve. As soon as you turn on the ign to RUN, you are energizing the ECU and all of the engine management sensors.
There is nothing in the battery that would buzz.

it would still help to specifically know if the starter is spinning the motor...

check out Ricks No Start site

if the starter engages, check for spark by either pulling a plug wire out and insert a plug in it, then ground it to the engine to see if it sparks.. or, what I prefer to do, get starting fluid.. open up the intake bellow near the throttle body, spray a bit of fluid in there, reattach the bellow and see if it tries to start when you crank it over.
With the starting fluid, it will tell you if you have a spark or fuel problem all in one shot, usually.

it doesn't turn over at all. I was told it could be the main relay or the starter solenoid.

check out that No Start site for a step by step diagnosis for your problem

these cars are also notorious for having the ignition switch go bad on them.

If the starter or solenoid is bad, your best bet is to replace both at the same time with a newer starter/solenoid set from a '91 535i
