Just scored a set of
18x8.5 BBS RSII Rims

Mounted new tires and ready to go ALMOST!!!!

The tire shop cannot get one of the friggin valve stems to seal.

THESE rims use that crazy hidden valve stem system that bbs no longer supports.

Apparently my rim guy "Lightly tapped" it in and stripped some thread.

SO, called BBS in GA. and everywhere else online (even emailed some people in the UK). Trying to find a NEW VALVE STEM.

NOT the adapter and not the cover!! (Although I've already ordered thiose from TireRack.

Is it just ME or all these local tire guys clueless? I have been told that there is a BEND in this valve stem that a regular stem would not work.

I also found a thread on some VW forum saying a harley valve stem would work. IT DOES NOT!!! I got 2 and they are totally different!

SO my question is how to get this ONE wheel TO SEAL and stop leaking air around that valve stem...???

Please if you are FAMILIAR with this setup please help....

Post a photo. I have a spare concealed Alpina stem, but have never seen the rs2 up close to compare.

Posted pics...

They are about 3 inches long and have a small black rubber seal near the bottom.

Did not get a pic before they put the rims on and all.

if only BBS still supported these!

Hoping I can get some help here or someone may KNOW SOMEONE that has a spare or 2 laying around with damaged wheels or something.

I WILL PAY NICE FOR THESE IF I CAN FIND THEM (PROBABLY NEED 2 VALVE STEMS TO BE SAFE, BUT ONE WOULD SUFFICE).

Praying my tire guy didn't strip them... perhaps they can still be tapped or the threads fixed if so...

This shows how small my town is.... NO TIRE PLACE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT THESE.

They are amazed at the hidden valve stem thingy...lol
