Finally got started on my turbo build its started out as a 1988 325is that I have had since high school where I painted it my senior year and from there its been a lot of suspension mods and wheel fitment but then I decided to swap in a s52 that I got from a 98 mroadster that was totalled so I used the zf trans and diff and then swapped the s52 to obd1 and that was a little over a year ago and now here i am now wanting more power.

heres some pics of the car
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-zYCfuXPM1Lw/TNtvVZjzqiI/AAAAAAAAAP8/CjL_t1JFyXo/s800/2010-09-06%25252013.08.14.jpg

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-L2cZS7h3Lbo/TRPP98TvysI/AAAAAAAAAUQ/mH9B19IOaj0/s800/5256771597_edf341ab36_b.jpg

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-M-JrUCMKVck/TRPQG2SA8JI/AAAAAAAAAVg/d5Llxw1BBuE/s800/5257204846_479450d32b_o.jpg

and now to the turbo build I wanted somthing that would scare me and to be fun so after lurking on the forums I decided to go with precision 6262 with billet comp wheel with a t4 .68 hot side and to mait it to top mount manifold from otis.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-PcMdQG4wNuI/TmmoN1QqiMI/AAAAAAAAAY4/ZGMx2Kjq77Y/s800/2011-06-05%25252016.33.54.jpg

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-CN7_35zeA2w/TmmoExpCAvI/AAAAAAAAAX0/LcB5bbNtNE0/s800/2011-06-05%25252016.35.14.jpg

so after getting the turbo and manifold I started to gather parts like act clutch and f1 flywheel a deachwerks fuel pump full gasket kits and a 24x12x3 intercooler and intercooler piping and all the othe pluming for the turbo also I order a set of 8.5:1 wiseco pistons and k1 rods from TRM and will also be using there blowthrough maf setup and arp head studs and arp main studs so as of now Im just waiting for the piston as theres a 4 week lead time so in the meanwhile I downed the car and got my 95m3 beater running good cuz the e30 was my daily driver.

starting to pull the motor
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-xvzESENS1fo/TmmpQFybo1I/AAAAAAAAAY4/UfOXndZIvAc/s640/2011-08-30%25252019.16.35.jpg
Motor out!
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-qteMQIsZtO4/TmmpdUtH4NI/AAAAAAAAAY4/MBXjyLI7lWw/s640/2011-08-30%25252020.43.53.jpg

test fit the turbo and manifold and mark oil return on pan
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-0QmoQyQFTTE/TmmqHN5Pn4I/AAAAAAAAAY4/fSQ67RmPf2c/s800/2011-08-30%25252021.12.20.jpg

then the teardown to get everything ready for the machine shop
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-juoMmgLvF30/TmmqXFra88I/AAAAAAAAAY4/38f476vGA4Y/s640/2011-08-31%25252022.57.51.jpg

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-msHTJzoag8c/TmmqpWwywJI/AAAAAAAAAY4/3U5v12B3Luo/s640/2011-08-31%25252023.10.52.jpg

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-NCwFo3faDu8/TmmqzB7MyWI/AAAAAAAAAY4/U1nNXgxLsgw/s640/2011-09-05%25252012.58.09.jpg

now I just have to wait for the pistons and then off to the machine shop

and in the meantime I decided to clean up the engine bay

before
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-rPcpbr9WrXY/Tmmq7Pi5QjI/AAAAAAAAAY4/8a5RJzVfmwg/s640/2011-09-05%25252014.10.37.jpg

After
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-CIvtJ_ufaMA/TmmrDri1pXI/AAAAAAAAAY4/YQddR2kmU3M/s640/2011-09-05%25252018.00.51.jpg

Stil have some stuff to finish up like to put some heatsheids on

and to see if it will fit
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-DalCROl9p-M/TmmrTNJTRzI/AAAAAAAAAY4/gOcwki3nDKg/s640/2011-09-05%25252018.01.53.jpg

so thats where Im at right now just waiting for the pistons and rods and then to the machine shop then order more stuff like new oil pump, chain guides and tensioners so I will keep u guys updated as it comes along.

Wow, great looking car. I love the CCW's. What is the spec on them (widths and offsets), along with the tires sizes?

Let me know if you are interested in traction control. I would high recommend it. It makes the car drivable with the amount of power you are making. If its at the back of your mind, the only thing you need to do now to plan for it is make sure the injectors you select are high impedance.

The race logic system is amazing, and very affordable and tunable on the fly. Especially if you want to be safe and fast on your current wheel/tire setup on the street, its vital.

I like the Downpipe idea. Looks like it will work great. Lots of welding, but no biggie. I really like it.

Hawaii's roads are too short for that much power! What u gonna do? Any straight roads through the middle? lol.

Nice! You better get some sticky rubber (toyo r888). I also have a e30 under boost.. No traction till 4th when you really get in it, but it puts the biggest smile on my face:evil2

I love this build! I own an e30 S52 swap and I can't seem to stop thinking about boosting it. At this point I'm also leaning toward a TRM blow through set up.

Bump for updates?

I do too and it's tons of fun. Probably one of the funnest cars I've owned.

I however, don't have traction issues. I get a little slip in 2nd and full traction in 3rd, 4th and 5th. I am running a 2.93 rear gear though. SUPADAVE- Try adding some camber. I assume that's your car in your sig... looks great but the - camber is probably hurting traction.
