I was cruising by a dealership today and spoted this 840ci, 43000 mi every thing looked great. Is it a good buy for 23000? I set up a test drive for sat, couldn't really find too much info on this model. It looked unique and my girl wants a bigger car. P.s. I think its a 98

LOTS of info in the 8 Series forum. I'd definitely research there before pulling the trigger on an 8'er....great cars, but not for the faint-walleted, if you don't know what you're getting into:

Super neat cars and nice low mileage, but $23k is definitely high. IMO, dealers usually bank on people not knowing the value of rare/specialty cars, and tack on an extra 30-50%.

If you're going to get an 8, you might as well just get the 850. Either way, you're going to be spending some dough on maintenance. Have you ever driven one before?
