A friend of mine told me that carbon ceramic pads with drilled rotors last longer than metallic pads and blank rotors. True?

I know drilled rotors don't last as long as blanks with metallic pads but what about ceramics? My friend said that there will be nowhere near as much heat as there would be on blanks with metallic pads.

I would recommend calling a reputable performance / industrial friction shop instead of an internet forum. 90% of answers on here are from people who do not work in the brake industry.

I would tell you that if you're only looking for longevity, ceramic pads w/cross-drilled rotors wont help. It is true that they will dissipate heat much better, but the pads will wear same or faster than metallic ones, because of the softer material. As far as the rotors go, you'll have to replace them with the pads anyways, unless you like squeaky brakes. the advantage of ceramic pads is low dusting (so you can go 5 days between washing your wheels instead of just 2). The better heat dissipation will give you more consistant braking, with less fade, and possibly even less warping.
