Hi all. Just placed my order for a 2011 E90 M3. I will take delivery in Germany mid-late NOV. Can't wait to pick it up!
My question/issue is that I MUST put winter tires on the vehicle during this time.
I have done some initial research and pricing and have found the Dunlop SP winter sport 3D at a reasonable price and decent review. I was thinking to combine this with the Sport Edition A7 wheel.
Anyone have experience with these tires or wheels? Any other Winter Tire recommendations/issues?
Thank you for your help.

It is a MUST in Germany, their laws are very strict on that. It is too much risk to have the summer compound rubber on your shiny new M3 in the German winter anyway.

I've sold that combination of dunlops on sport edition a7 wheels more times in the past 7 years than I can begin to count with no problems. It's a very good choice of wheel and tire for the E90.

Still looking. I have some time to consider which ones. Does anyone know if the prices at tirerack.com are seasonal?
I have also been told that if I buy the tires now I may be receiving last years stock. If it is last years stock will the longevity/performance be affected?
I will look for reviews on the Hoosier. Thanks for the suggestion!

Whoa! Really don't! I was just kidding about the Hoosier. Please don't take my recommendation to use that as a winter tire! :devillook Uh oh, the devil's looking around...maybe for souls to take...maybe for the po-po, as he's wanted!

The Dunlop works well for winter driving without giving up all of the cars handling. If I can help with the package let me know. The wheels do accept the factory BMW logo caps as well.

Are you asking if you have to "purchase" winter tires during your European Delivery (ED) in Germany ? I believe there was a story in a recent Roundel that mentioned the ability to "rent" winter tires/rims during the ED experience. They will store the summer tires/rims during your trip, then remount before it it shipped to the USA.

Sven75...disregard my previous post. Just realized that you were located in Germany.

Had Michelin Pilot Alpins on my old 328is, used for 6 winters with minimal treadwear. Excellent performance for a cold weather compound. Pretty sure the updated version of those are available in fitments for the E90 M3.

We have winter tires available but you would have to ship them overseas for the European pick up.
