so hopefully i will be selling my jetski soon, asking 5k but planning on getting 4k hopefully.
my m50 is sorta tired, 207k
so should i rebuild my m50? (if i do, i'd like to try to fully rebuild it, and i'd like to get as much possible power without boosting it, though i'd like to build it in such a way that it would be possible down the road without having to do too much.)
or try to find another motor to put in? (really would prefer an s50 if imma buy a new motor)
i feel like rebuilding might be better in long run as this would be my dd. but im not sure, any suggestions or opinions?

An s50 will run around $2000 by the time you're done. You'll never get as much power with a rebuild as you will with a swap unless you go forced induction.
It depends on your budget. From what Ive read all the numbers seem to be pretty close. S50 swap, turbo, super charger or LS1 is all about the same cost if you search around for the best prices.

Honestly, I'm a 302 swap fanboy. They are cheap, and easy easy EASY to get power out of. Motor on craigslist is around 400$ around here. Toss on some aluminum heads, a cam, injectors and a tuner and you're sitting at around 350 horse for little over 800$, less if you find deals. You can also find used superchargers, or turbos for dirt cheap, and best yet..THEY ARE CHEAP to work on.
All around 1500$, and cheaper in the long haul.

Seriously considering doing a 5.0 e36 as I have a fox body mustang I'm not doing anything with. The 302 w/ aluminum heads is about the same weight as a m50 right? One of these days a good rolling chassis will cross my path.

With the stock heads, a 302 is roughly the same weight. Aluminum heads weigh around half the weight of the cast iron if I remember right. So with aluminum heads, it should weigh less.

Rebuild the m50 with s50 internals... Crank/rods/cams :)
