I'm trying to figure out why my '92, has snappy throttle response when the AC is running, and when the AC is off, its a little sluggish.

As a test, I disconnected the compressor, and the idle doesn't change, but the throttle response is quicker.

Any ideas what engaging the AC system, changes in the fuel/ignition/idle air valve?

rev it out...it's not snappy...it appears snappy because the revs fall back off fast...but that is the extra work caused by the AC pump...

I don't think turning on the A/C would change anything in the throttle respoense, it has a regulator which increase the rpm at idle but doesn't affects the throttle
